The 49th edition of the GGPoker Super MILLION$ has reached its final table, and it is a final table brimming with poker talent.
A field of 159 players bought in for $10,300 and created a $1,590,000 prize pool. This princely sum is being shared by the top 20 finishers, with the eventual champion taking home an impressive $313,907.
Dario Sammartino was the unfortunate soul who popped the all-important money bubble, his 21st place finish locking up at least $20,493 for the surviving players. Such luminaries as Thomas Muehloecker, Joakim Andersson, Anatoly Filatov, and David Peters finished inside the money places, Peters falling in tenth to set the final table.

Super MILLION$ Final Table Chips Counts
|6||Elio Fox||United States||1,547,496||38.7|
Ramiro Petrone goes into the latest Super MILLION$ final table as the chip leader. Petrone does not enter the Super MILLION$ often, in fact, this is only the ninth time the Uruguayan has exchanged $10,300 for a chance to win the event. This is Petrone’s second Super MILLION$ final table appearance. He finished third for $270,490 on January 17, 2021.
Second place at the restart belongs to Sam Greenwood, who trails Petrone by the narrowest of margins. Petrone has 3,018,332 (75.5 big blinds) in his stack while Greenwood sits down armed with a 2,904,501 stack (72.6 big blinds).
The Super MILLION$ is rarely kind to Greenwood. He has cashed 11 times from 36 entries and reached the final table three times before tonight’s finale. Those three final tables have ended in an eighth, seventh, and sixth-place finish, with Greenwood usually running badly to bust before he would have planned to. Is tonight the night Greenwood runs pure and gets the job done.
A mere 0.3 big blinds behind Greenwood is the Swedish poker legend that is Niklas Astedt. The Swede holds the record for most Super MILLION$ money finishes (21), final tables (12), and winnings ($3,040,366). Now he is guaranteed another $48,802 in Super MILLION$ winnings and nobody in their right mind would put another victory out of Astedt’s reach.
A Talented Chasing Pack
Petrone, Greenwood, and Astedt need to look over their shoulders because while they lead the way at the start of the final table, there are some talented players lurking within striking distance.
Mikita Badziakouski returns in fourth place and is one to watch when the cards are in the air. The Belarusian has reached what is only his second Super MILLION$ final table; he finished fifth on that occasion.
Fifth-placed Mario Mosboeck is guaranteed to be cheered on by a legion of poker fans thanks to the GGPoker staking feature. Mosboeck sold 80% of his action at a 1.02 markup. Some 45 GGPoker players have already benefited from their investment. Imagine how delighted they will be if Mosboeck goes all the way and banks more than $313,000!
Elio Fox (38.7 big blinds) and “rushaakkandqq” (30.1 big blinds) are two of the short stacks, but are not in a position where they have to push all-in or fold. A couple of pots won sees them right back in the hunt for glory.
The Two Shortest Stacks
Two players take their seats at the final table knowing they need Lady Luck to shine down on them if they are to climb up the payout ladder. Bruno Volkmann, a former winner of this event, only has 329,910 chips (8.2 big blinds) at the resart, while former finalist “judd trump” is even shorter with 192,874 (4.8 big blinds) in their stack.
Play resumes at 7:00 p.m. BST on May 18 under the watchful eyes of GGPoker’s commentators Kevin “RotterdaM” van der Kooi and Randy “nananoko” Lew. Tune into GGPoker’s YouTube channel or Twitch channel to discover who walks away as the 49th Super MILLION$ champion.
