Manig Loeser Wins 2021 World Series of Poker Online $600 Monster Stack Event

Manig Loeser was among the most accomplished professional poker players in the world without a World Series of Poker bracelet heading into this year’s WSOP Online series. The 32-year-old from Bad Hamburg, Germany had accumulated more than $11.6 million in tournament earnings, with marquee victories on the European Poker Tour and in a Triton Poker Super High Roller event under his belt. In the second event of the WSOPO, a $600 buy-in no-limit hold’em ‘Monster Stack’ tournament, Loeser outlasted a field of 1,038 entries to secure the $104,313 top prize and his first WSOP bracelet.

With both an EPT main event title and a bracelet to his name, Loeser took to social media to state his intention of completing the triple crown by winning a World Poker Tour event.

The turnout of over a thousand entries in this event created a prize pool of $560,520 that was paid out among the top 167 entries. Three-time bracelet winner Nick ‘CashUsKlay’ Schulman was eliminated on the bubble, which guaranteed that the remaining players locked up at least $841. Among those to cash in the event were 2020 WSOP Online bracelet winner Ryan ‘joeyisamush’ Depaulo (158th – $841), six-time bracelet winner Daniel ‘DNegs’ Negreanu (92nd – $861.97), three-time bracelet winner Upeshka ‘gomezhamburg’ De Silva (37th – $2,130), two-time bracelet winner Chance ‘BingShui’ Kornuth (34th – $2,466), bracelet winner and WPT champion Andrew ‘WATCHGUY42’ Lichtenberger (28th – $2,466), 2012 WSOP main event runner-up Jesse ‘MrJesseJames’ Sylvia (22nd- $3,027), popular vlogger Brad ‘mrmonkeybear’ Owen (17th – $3,699), and bracelet winner Kathy ‘Luckygal’ Liebert (12th – $5,885).

By the time the final table was set, Loeser’s screen name of ‘Ohio77’ sat atop the virtual leaderboard. He remained the largest stack after the eliminations of Alexandre ‘alexmdm’ Besse (9th – $7,567), Julie ‘i.win.13’ Polatchek (8th – $9,865), Craig ‘mrjanovich’ Mason (7th – $13,060), and Justin ‘LappyPoker’ Lapka (6th – $17,488) saw the field narrowed to just five.

The player currently known only by their screenname ‘WompDatTHomp’ overtook the lead from Loeser when their ASpade SuitKSpade Suit beat out the ADiamond SuitJHeart Suit of Jordyn ‘ThLstCrdBndr’ Miller. Neither player improved and Miller was knocked out in fifth place ($23,766).

Mark ‘Nostradonkus’ Liedtke earned his second elimination at the final table with KHeart Suit2Heart Suit besting the JClub Suit9Heart Suit of Damian ‘martillo1978’ Alonso. King-high was the winner by the river, and Alonso was sent packing with $32,734 for his fourth-place showing.

‘WompDatTHomp’ slid down the chip counts during three-handed play. They ended up three-bet shoving their last 21 big blinds from the small blind holding AClub Suit6Club Suit. Loeser four-bet shoved with 6Heart Suit6Diamond Suit and Liedtke bowed out after being the initial raiser. Loeser faded a flopped flush draw to take down the pot and eliminate ‘WompDatTHomp’ in third place ($45,626).

Heads-up play began with Loeser holding roughly 23.7 million to the 17.9 million of Liedtke. The final showdown lasted only a matter of minutes, with all of the chips getting in preflop when both players picked up pocket pairs. Loeser had the best of it with his QSpade SuitQClub Suit, while Liedtke was in need of some help holding 6Spade Suit6Diamond Suit. The board ran out AClub SuitJHeart Suit8Spade Suit7Club Suit10Club Suit and Liedtke was knocked out in second place. He was awarded $64,460 as the runner-up finisher.
