“IsleOfSkyGuy” Wins MISCOOP-29-H: $300 NLHE (Progressive KO, Thursday Thrill SE)
The 2021 PokerStars Michigan Spring Championship of Online Poker saw bounty hunters come out in force today for MISCOOP-29-H: $300 NLHE (Progressive Bounty, Thursday Thrill SE).
“IsleOfSkyGuy”, who told heads-up opponent “georgejanssen” that they had a 5:00 a.m. shift at Star 105.7 Grand Rapids coming up soon, will no doubt be sipping their morning coffee with glee after besting a field of 180 entrants to earn $5,002.61 from the prize pool, and another $5,864.68 in bounties.
“IsleOfSkyGuy” started their tear up the counts in Level 12, bumping their bounty up to $525 in the early going. They stayed at or near the top of the counts from there all the way to the final table, where they proceeded to dominate the counts up until three-handed play. Despite a few setbacks, they managed to right the ship and eventually bust “georgejanssen” to earn their first MISCOOP title of 2021 in the process.

Action of the Day
After building up a $50,400 prize pool, players seeking bounties sent the player count tumbling downward in a hurry, and “PitWizrd777” had the unfortunate honor of not only bubbling the tournament, but doing so without a bounty to their credit. David “DavidKayePoker” Kaye put up a healthy fight and earned a ton of bounties, but ended up succumbing in 13th. Others who snagged a payday include Yutaka “SHOPMRBEAST” Morishima (11th – $457.65 + $621.25 in Bounties) and “santasworkshop” (23rd – $309.72).
“KzooLee24” was the first to fall at the final table, and then “HarryTheHammer”, who came to the final table with the largest bounty remaining in the tournament, wound up losing jacks to ace-ten, then ace-deuce to kings to fall in a disappointing eighth. “$tueys Gho$t” and “Wintroymi” both fell in quick succession, then “gut€nberg” busted a short time later to MISCOOP-26-H: $300 NLHE [Super Tuesday SE], $40K GTD champ “iConvert13”.
Despite that elimination, “iConvert13” was unable to continue the spin up, and fell in fourth to “IsleOfSkyGuy”. Despite holding most of the chips in play for the majority of the final table, three-handed play saw “IsleOfSkyGuy”, “georgejanssen” and “Coolriver84” all hold the chip lead at various points, until “Coolriver84” finally fell in third. Only 57 big blinds remained between the final two players, and after winning a flurry of pots, “IsleOfSkyGuy” earned the victory with ten-nine over “georgejanssen” and their ace-eight when “IsleOfSkyGuy” paired their nine.
PokerNews will return on Saturday for coverage of another Progressive Knockout event, MISCOOP-33-H: $500 NLHE (Progressive Knockout, 8-Max) $40K Gtd.
