Johnny Depp purchased the abandoned Provencal village back in 2001 at the height of his Pirates of the Caribbean films franchise. The lavish French Village is one of the several unusual properties Johnny Depp owns over the years.
Location and Neighborhood
Seventeen miles away from the celebrity hot-spot of Saint Tropez, you will find the stunning French Village. Saint Tropez is one of the most popular vacation towns on the French Riviera. The Town became home to celebrities like Beyonce and JayZ; Kate Moss, Elton John, Leonardo DiCaprio; and the top clothing designers when Bridget Bardot came to film And God Created Woman and never left.
The French village includes the main house, six guest homes ( he converted the original village church into a guest home), a covered wagon with bath and kitchen, a private restaurant Chez Marceline, and an art studio. Altogether, the living space is 12,900 square feet with 15 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.
However, to maintain the structure and achieve a modern yet classical look, Johnny Depp had to spend over $10 million on preserving the stone-and-wood-beamed structures without destroying their original features.
The ground features two swimming pools, a charming town square with lush landscaping and outdoor dining, a full gym, a skate park, and a wine cave. Also, the grounds are dotted with 300-year-old oaks, olive trees, and vineyard.
It could be yours!
With 20 years claim, Johnny Depp is ready to part with the property and give it a new owner. He is said to have reenlisted the lavish French village at $55.5million. Moreover, he had made previous attempts to sell the property in 2015 and 2016 at $27million and $67million respectively, but the village wasn’t ready to let him go.
