The synopsis of the upcoming season reads: ‘The global hit Tiger King, which attracted 64 million households in the first four weeks after its March 2020 premiere, will return to Netflix for more madness and mayhem.’

The docuseries will bring back the directing team of Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin who worked on the first series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness.

The original series had also documented the feud between big cat enthusiasts Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin.

Baskin is a lifelong lover of cats and has been interested in saving them from a young age. She garnered media attention to the plight of captive big cats, like the ones Exotic had at his zoo, to media outlets and several other national and international programs.

The quarrel then took a dark turn when the gun-toting, polygamist, country singer, former gubernatorial candidate, and most importantly, zoo owner with a mullet was arrested for plotting out a murder-for-hire involving Baskin.

Exotic is currently imprisoned as he was eventually convicted on 17 federal charges of animal abuse and two counts of attempted murder for hire in his plot to kill nemesis and Big Cat Rescue owner Baskin in 2019.

Netflix also shared footage from the highly-anticipated docuseries in a preview teasing the streamer’s upcoming slate of True Crime features earlier this week.

It began with a hand reaching over a statue with a flower crown much like Carole Baskin’s to grab a sheet before cutting to influencers posing with baby tigers.

It then shows Baskin walking to court wearing a leopard-patterned blouse before cutting to a billboard which reads ‘Who murdered Don Lewis?’ referencing Baskin’s former husband who founded Big Cat Rescue and went missing as the mystery was a major plot point in the original docuseries.

Exotic’s former business partner Jeff Lowe was then shown talking very enthusiastically before it cut to heavily armed law enforcement.

Then a private jet with Joe Exotic’s face emblazoned on the front was shown closing the cabin door before it concludes with the ‘Tiger King’ himself laughing while on video call from prison.

The sheet unveiling then shows an epic painting of Exotic behind the statue representing Baskin.
