The Voice Australia announces TWO upcoming series for 2022 including a brand new generational twist on the format – and casting is now open


The Voice Australia is back for two new series in 2022. 

On Monday, TV Tonight reported that both The Voice Season 11 and The Voice: Generations will be screened on Channel Seven next year.

‘If you perform alongside other singers or musicians from other generations, if you jam out with your dad’s mates, rock out with your neighbours, sing with your daughter, perform as a family around the campfire then apply below.

‘It’s time to bring all generations to The Voice stage, all at once!’

There is no age limit, but groups must include at least two people to qualify, one which needs to a a vocalist.

Seven’s Network Director of Programming, Angus Ross, told TV Tonight:  ‘We are so thrilled with the series, we think it deserves a spin-off and The Voice: Generations is the perfect way to add an exciting new dimension to the format.’

The latest season of The Voice Australia has been a ratings smash for Channel Seven thanks to its all-star judging panel and snappy new format. 

The network is sparing no expense to secure the return of celebrity coaches Rita Ora, Keith Urban, Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy in 2022.

Jessica, 32, and Guy, 39, have already signed on for next year’s season, reports New Idea, but producers are still working on getting Rita, 30, and Keith, 53, ‘over the line’. 

After this year’s record-breaking ratings, everyone involved in the singing competition, from Seven to production company ITV Studios Australia, is ‘desperate to keep the momentum up’.

‘Contracts are being worked on for Rita; the ball is all in her court to return. She’s being offered up to $1million per season, which is a monster fee,’ the source said.
