One devastated fan commented: ‘This news is worse than hearing Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt ending!’

‘Sorry to hear this Daniel. I hope you both find love again soon. You both have such love to give,’ another penned.

A third wrote: ‘This breaks my heart, hope you’re okay!’

Lily and Daniel met on the show in 2015. He asked her to marry him with a festive musical-themed proposal, singing All I Want For Christmas Is You – Lily’s favourite song.

‘I’m feeling very excited. What’s the best feeling in the world? Love,’ he said as he got down on one knee.

Their wedding was put off amid the pandemic, like so many others, and now seems to be cancelled for good.

Meanwhile, Daniel is attempted to launch a music career, with an album and tour in the pipeline.
