The EXTREMELY awkward moment the wrong team on The Block celebrates their supposed win

The EXTREMELY awkward moment the wrong team on The Block celebrates their supposed first challenge win… before realising they actually lost

The Block’s Faves were left red-faced during Tuesday’s episode, after they wrongly assumed they’d won the show’s first challenge.

Judge Shaynna Blaze excitedly announced that the winner of the $10,000 Bayley House challenge was the Fans.

But that didn’t stop the Faves from celebrating, assuming without hesitation that they’d won.

As the Faves – consisting of Ronnie and Georgia, and Mitch and Mark – ecstatically clapped and cheered, the Fans stood stony-faced beside them.

For a moment, the Fans also appeared resigned to the idea that the Faves had apparently won, good-naturedly giving them a round of applause.

But as the Faves continued to celebrate their supposed win, it wasn’t long before Shaynna, 58, and host Shelley Craft corrected them.

‘No, no!’ shouted Shelley, 45, over their cheers.

Twins Josh and Luke, both 27, later explained that they were ‘so used to losing to them’ that they simply assumed the Faves had won.

‘Ronnie and Georgia were going off. Like, “Yeah, yeah! We won! Ooh, we’re the best ever! We won!”‘ recounted Mitch, 58.

As Shaynna explained that the Fans had actually won the challenge, the surprised underdogs immediately started to celebrate their victory.

‘Swear to God, I heard Faves. I promise you I heard her say Faves,’ Georgia, 37, later explained simply.

Meanwhile, Ronnie, 45, called it ‘an Oscar moment’, referring to the 2017 awards ceremony, when La La Land was wrongly announced as the winner of Best Picture.
