The Block producers are ‘scoping out potential sites’ in Byron Bay for future seasons of the Channel Nine show

The new season of The Block will begin next month which will see fans of the renovation show taking on favourite former contestants.

And it seems producers of the Channel Nine ratings juggernaut are looking at new sites outside of Victoria – where the show has been based for the past 10 years.

On Saturday, Sydney Morning Herald ‘confirmed’ that producers of the show have been ‘scoping out potential sites for a future seasons of the show in Byron Bay.’

One local claimed to the publication that a property he spent hundreds of thousands of dollars renovating was to be knocked for the show. 

However, it was reported that ‘no deals have been signed’ in regards to moving the production from it’s current base of Melbourne to the celebrity resort town.

While Byron Bay is being considered, according to the publication there are other locations outside of the Victorian capital that are also being looked at as a potential new sites.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for comment.

Meanwhile, the new season of The Block – Fans V Faves – is set to begin on August 8.

The former contestants returning to compete as the ‘Faves’ include season seven’s Mitch Edwards and Mark McKie, alongside season 13’s Ronnie and Georgia Caceres.

They will compete against twins and former Love Island stars Josh and Luke Packham, Tanya and Vito Guccione, as well as Kirsty Lee Akers and Jesse Anderson.

Channel Nine recently unveiled a cowboy-themed promo featuring host Scott Cam along with judges Neale Whitaker, Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer, set in the affluent Melbourne suburb of Hampton.

‘This cul de sac ain’t big enough for the lot of you,’ Scott tells the group.

‘For the first time in Block history. We are throwing away the plan,’ he then says.

As the voice-over adds: ‘Five magnificent family houses in a cul de sac showdown that will grip Australia.’
