Sydney Covid: Guy Sebastian is writing a movie musical during lockdown

Guy Sebastian reveals he’s been busy writing a movie musical during Sydney’s Covid lockdown

Guy Sebastian has been stuck in Covid lockdown for months just like everyone else in Sydney.

And he revealed on Friday he has been busy writing a movie musical while hunkered down at his home in Maroubra.

The singer, 39, told Fitzy and Wippa: ‘I started writing a movie during this lockdown and it’s a musical movie, who knows what will come from it.’

In the works: Guy Sebastian has been keeping busy during Sydney’s lockdown by writing a movie musical. ‘Who knows what will come from it?’ he said on Fitzy and Wippa on Friday

He noted that reading the book Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert – who also wrote the bestseller Eat, Pray, Love – helped get his creative juices flowing.

‘I swear to God if I didn’t read that book I would’ve succumbed to my normal thoughts which is like, “Who do you think you are writing a movie? What do you think you are, Spielberg or something? Crawl back into your hole,”‘ he admitted.

‘You know those negative thoughts like “it will never be The Greatest Showman” and then you would give up on the idea.’
