James Courtney has issued a grovelling apology to his fans after offending his Instagram followers with a raunchy photo of his model girlfriend, Tegan Woodford.

The 41-year-old Supercars driver shared a photo of himself and Tegan in their newly renovated kitchen on Instagram on Tuesday.

But many fans took offence to the photo, which showed Tegan wearing only a revealing sheer black lace negligée.

After losing fans over the photo, James addressed the controversy in a separate post on Instagram Stories on Wednesday. 

‘I’m sorry if my post yesterday upset a few people, I thought it was funny and would make people laugh in these tough Covid times,’ he explained. 

‘The world is already full of so much hate. We don’t need to add to the already out of control cyber bullying epidemic.’

The champion race car driver went public with his relationship with Tegan back in April, and she’s featured regularly on his Instagram page ever since.

The offending photo showed Tegan perched seductively on a stool, while James stood in the kitchen working a mixer.

Many fans said that they were planning on unfollowing James after seeing the raunchy photo.
