NRL great Sam Burgess will discuss his divorce from ex-wife Phoebe in the upcoming series of Channel Seven’s SAS: Australia.

As he’s forced into a chair for his interrogation with the SAS soldiers, he describes himself as a broken man.
‘I lost my career, my kids and my marriage. I’ve lost it all. I obviously lost respect for myself,’ he tells Ant and his fellow Directing Staff.
Elsewhere in the trailer, Sam admits he is ‘scared of the dark’ as he crawls through a tunnel during a military-style operation.

The South Sydney captain retired from NRL due to a shoulder injury back in 2019.
A year later he finalised his divorce from wife-of-five-years Phoebe, who is the mother of his two children, daughter Poppy, four, and son Billy, two.
Sam is one of the most famous recruits on this year’s season of SAS Australia.

Other competitors include soap star Bonnie Anderson, former politician Emma Husar, TV presenter Erin Holland and retired AFL player Heath Shaw.
Actress Isabelle Cornish, Olympian Jana Pittman and sprinter Jessica Peris also star.
They will be joined by Ironman Jett Kenny, runner John Steffensen, volleyball champion Kerri Pottharst, ‘Bra Boy’ Koby Abberton, singer Pete Murray and tennis ace Mark Philippoussis.
