Seattle police are searching for a purple-haired woman accused of trying to snatch a two-year-old boy from his pregnant mother at a local park.

The woman, whose identity is unknown, fled the scene after allegedly trying to grab the young boy as he held his mother’s hand at SeaTac’s Angle Lake Park on Tuesday afternoon. 

She then reportedly ‘attempted to flee with the boy after throwing his mother to the ground by her hair,’ according to FOX News, but a group of good Samaritans managed to rescue the boy and reunite him with his mother.

The suspect then left the park on foot, before boarding a bus.

The boy, meanwhile, was not injured, and his mother, who is seven months pregnant, was checked at a nearby hospital as a precaution.

It remains unclear what the woman’s motive was in the attempted kidnapping, and whether she knew the victim. 

The woman was pictured in several photos released by the King County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday with dyed purple hair, wearing a neon pink shirt, gray and pink athletic pants and carrying a pair of black and neon pink sneakers in one hand.

She is now wanted for attempted kidnapping and assault, as the sheriff’s office asks for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect, saying ‘community safety is the highest priority for the deputies and detectives serving throughout King County.’
