NRL: Phoebe Burgess blasts troll who called her a lockdown ‘princess’

‘You’re living in a castle, but a lot of people are suffering’: Phoebe Burgess blasts troll who called her a ‘princess’ for sharing photos during lockdown from her Bowral estate and saying the stay-at-home order is ‘not that bad’

Phoebe Burgess has hit back at a troll who called her a ‘princess’ for sharing family photos during lockdown from her estate in the NSW Southern Highlands.

The 32-year-old former football WAG posted several pictures with her children, Billy, one, and Poppy, four, to Instagram on Sunday, and wrote: ‘Lockdown isn’t all bad.’

But one of her followers found this offensive, commenting: ‘Not cool at all. You might be living the life in your castle princess, but a lot of people are suffering from it.’

Phoebe responded: ‘Even the simplest sentiment can be s**t on.’

‘So sad… I am aware (as is most of society) people are suffering, so why not share a tiny, tiny piece of joy that might just help someone turn their mentality around even for just a minute?’ she added.

Phoebe’s inoffensive Instagram post showed her smiling while her son kissed her cheek.

She also shared another picture of herself posing with both her children, whom she shares with ex-husband Sam Burgess.

Phoebe is self-isolating at her family’s Bowral estate following her visit last week to Joh Bailey’s hair salon in Double Bay, which was later listed as a Covid exposure site.

She visited the salon last Tuesday, and said three days later she planned to isolate.

She wrote on Instagram: ‘Isolating at home for the next couple of weeks, regardless of yesterday’s Covid test.’

Joh Bailey was added to Sydney’s growing list of Covid exposure sites last Tuesday, after it was revealed the venue had been exposed from June 17 to June 19.

Customers were later told that if they had visited any time from June 15 to June 23 they also had to isolate after more stylists tested positive.
