PROFESSIONAL BAKER REVEALS HER TIPS FOR THE BEST CAKES
Katherine Sabbath is a self-taught cake maker who has amassed a huge following online for her colourful and creative cakes.
She has revealed her top tips for ‘getting it right’ when making and decorating a cake for your loved ones. Her top tips are as follows:
1 – Get to know your oven – this will make it easier for you to time your cakes so they are not too dry or under done.
2 – Invest in a cake scraper and cake turne – these two tools can save time and a lot of broken cakes.
3 – Bake cakes ahead of time – This part can be time consuming and cakes are easier to work with once they have cooled or been frozen.
4 – Freeze buttercream frosting – This can be especially helpful in summer, or when you need the frosting to be extra firm.
