Meghan Trainor to join Adam Lambert and Ester Dean as judges on new reality competition series Clash Of The Cover Bands with tWitch as host

Musical competition series such as Masked Singer and Lip Sync Battle have met with incredible success on television.

And now a new show is in the works, with a working title of Clash Of The Cover Bands, according to Deadline.

Among the stars reported to be attached to the new project are Meghan Trainor, Adam Lambert and Ester Dean as judges, along with Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss as host.

The show, set to air on E!, will present up and coming bands of similar musical genres who compete with various cover song performances.  

Over the course of two rounds, the bands will vie for a cash prize and the title for most entertaining cover performance.

The cover bands will be in the genres and traditions of various styles of music, from Pop Divas and Boy Bands to Heavy Metal and more.

On Monday, Trainor spoke to Kevin Hart about the new show during NBC’s upfront presentation.

She mentioned that the cash prize will be as much as $10,000, and that the grand prize at the end of the season will be a performance slot on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, selected by viewers.  

Clash of the Cover Bands is from executive producer Fallon’s Electric Hot Dog.

The series will be produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Jim Juvonen serving as executive producer alongside Fallon. 

Clash Of The Cover Bands will also be one of the first follow up projects for DJ tWitch, now that his long-running stint as DJ, co-host and producer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show is coming to an end.

The competition show is set to premiere later this year.
