‘Matt is so serious about this new step he has signed up to Emma’s management company, who helped curate her career to make her a huge star. Together, the pair are being touted as TV’s new power couple.
‘Matt and Emma have great chemistry together and are both perfect for wholesome, family television. Matt has already been going to castings for new TV shows and was in the final selection for BBC2’s new series Rock Of Ages.’
The role went to Martin Kemp in the end, but the source insists Matt, 38, is powering on, with Busted on hiatus for now.
‘His fans should be watching out for him on a new TV series soon and if their plan works, Emma will be by his side,’ the insider added.
Partnership: Emma shares Isabelle, 12, Ace, nine, and Trixie, five, with Matt, and celebrated 13 years of marriage with him over the weekend
Matt has been part of Busted on and off since 2000 with co-stars Charlie Simpson and James Bourne. He has since cropped up in acting roles on the likes of Birds Of A Feather and EastEnders.
He is next starring as Dr Pomatter in musical Waitress at the New Wimbledon Theatre. He will also appear in Wolves Of War – a WWII drama co-starring Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, as a British officer on a mission in Bavaria.
Meanwhile, Emma, 45 – who shares Isabelle, 12, Ace, nine, and Trixie, five, with Matt, and celebrated 13 years of marriage with him over the weekend – has revealed she hopes to appear on the next season of Strictly Come Dancing after waving goodbye to her presenting job on The Circle when it was axed three months ago.
The TV star, who’s usually busy hosting the reality game show and The Voice, admitted she would jump at the chance to star on Strictly now she has some free time in her calendar.
She said to The Sun on Monday: ‘If I had time, I would do it in a heartbeat. Like I absolutely love it.

‘I’ve been asked in the past but it’s always the time of year when we’re filming The Voice and The Circle.
‘The Circle is not happening this year, but let’s hope The Voice is — otherwise I will be doing Strictly.’
Emma recently finished recording Cooking With The Stars which premieres next Tuesday.
The new show sees celebrities battle it out in the kitchen, after refining their culinary skills with the help of a professional chef.

Strictly judge Shirley Ballas, 60, will feature on the new programme which Emma presents.
When asked if the dancing veteran has tried to persuade her to join the BBC competition, Emma responded: ‘She does not need to convince me to go on Strictly.’
Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley, 37, comedian Johnny Vegas, 50, TV personality Denise van Outen, 47, and McFly star Harry Judd, 35, make up the rest of the Cooking With The Stars line-up.
According to Emma, the cooking show turns into a bloodbath as she said ‘medics got more airtime than me’.
The Big Brother presenter, who co-hosts with Tom Allen, said to The Mirror: ‘Because of the pressure they were trying to do everything too quickly.

‘And they had professional knives, which they’ve never handled before, so there was a lot of nicks and cuts’
‘Harry cut himself within the first two minutes – the first chop he made he took the end of his little finger off. He has got a little memory scar from the show for sure.’
According to the mother-of-three Harry soldiered on using double gloves so that he could continue cooking.
However after an hour he peeled back his ‘sweaty’ gloves and realised it wasn’t sweat, it was in fact blood.
‘Medics were quick to appear with blue plasters and gloves to ensure there was “zero spillage” into the food,’ she added.
