MasterChef judge Melissa Leong debuts her lighter hairstyle after chopping off her trademark long locks

She recently chopped off her long locks, and now Melissa Leong has changed up her hairstyle once again.

In a photo posted to Instagram on Friday, the 39-year-old MasterChef judge showed off her lighter hair after colouring it ‘bronde’ – halfway between blonde and brunette.

‘Latest role: Bronde Girl. *piew piew*,’ she wrote, referencing the James Bond movie franchise, in which the spy’s love interests are commonly referred to as ‘Bond girls’.

She added: ‘Post-MCseason / Pre-lockdown5 hairs (a blush blonde, chocolate one-two punch)’.

Melissa’s new hairstyle comes after Victoria was ordered into a five-day lockdown on Thursday after seeing COVID cases imported into the state from Sydney.

The food critic revealed she had cut off her long hair back in May, showing off her chic bobbed hairdo on Instagram at the time.

‘Snip snip, bang bang,’ she captioned the post, with her fresh haircut winning plenty of praise from her friends and fans.

Prior to cutting and colouring her hair, Melissa had long brunette hair, which sat past her shoulders.

In an editorial for The Daily Telegraph’s Stellar magazine last month, she revealed she had recently taken her first holiday in four years.

Melissa admitted she had ‘a certain kind of stupid pride’ in being busy, and felt guilty for taking a break.

‘I noticed a funny thing while away: every time someone asked me, “So, you’re on holiday?” I flinched. It was as though I felt shameful about the fact that I was out somewhere not working,’ she wrote.

‘I started asking myself why I found it so hard to admit that I was doing something purely for enjoyment’s sake.’
