The pair, who have been nick named ‘Jiberty’ have been going through a rough patch recently, and Jake, 24, has come under fire by fans for not being genuine and playing up to the cameras.

Sharon insisted in the interview: ‘what you see on the camera is very different from what I’d seen of them together in person.’

However, Thursday night’s episode will see Liberty, 21, break up with the water engineer in a shock revelation in the final few days of the show.

The break up is a Love Island first, but the couple could go the distance and are still in with a chance of grabbing the £50,000 prize money.

In exclusive photos, the Devonshire beauty, 26, sits down with the financial consultant, 26, on an epic final date and addresses the hurdles they have faced.

Faye previously broke things off with Teddy in an explosives argument, after witnessing a clip where he called Clarisse Juliette ‘sexually attractive’ during his Casa Amour stay.

While he was away at the other villa, she also questioned their connection and whether they share the same sense of humour.

However, love was very much in the air as she arrives at a rose petal-filled pool at a private venue with Teddy.

Admitting she has struggled to show her vulnerable side, Faye says to the hunk: ‘I thought I just needed to stay on my own, and I wasn’t going to open up to you but it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done.

‘From there, we’ve had our ups and downs, more so my fault than yours. I was almost waiting for that opportunity for you to f**k up so I could run instead of falling for you.’

Teddy responds: ‘I knew, in the back of my mind, we needed it to realise how we can recover from s*** situations.’

And as the conversation continues, Teddy tells Faye there’s something ‘on the tip of his tongue,’ as he hints he is ready to declare his love or ask her to be his girlfriend.

Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm.
