Lorde, whose real name is Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, wore a pair of beige trousers with a ribbed floral top.

Her new album, Solar Power, is due to be released on August 20, but its cover has already gone viral.

The photo of Lorde on the cover was taken from the ground and shows the singer jumping over the camera with her bottom on show.

Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last month, she explained the snap was taken by a friend.

She added: ‘It was just me jumping over a friend on the beach. It’s a little hardcore, but it was so joyful to me.

‘It felt innocent and playful and a little bit feral… and I don’t know, sexy.’

‘If I had a butt like that, I’d be jumping over somebody too,’ Stephen joked, to which Lorde replied: ‘You gotta do it while you got it, you know?’

The Solar Power world tour begins in Christchurch, New Zealand, in February.
