Posting to Instagram in April, Lisa admitted she still struggles to talk about her loss, and experiences ‘pain and fear’ on a daily basis.

‘Our Jaimi. My brain has thoughts and conversations that my mouth can’t say,’ Lisa wrote next to a throwback photo of herself cuddling up to Jaimi.

‘It’s hard to talk about the pain and fear that is felt daily. Life goes on. People say you get stronger… You don’t. You just learn to hide it better,’ she continued.

Lisa revealed she ‘constantly stops’ to remember that her daughter is gone, and feels sorry Jaimi never got to meet her nephew Taj, who was born two months after her death.

‘So many beautiful moments that she would have loved. But we still include her in everything we do,’ Lisa added, explaining that she ‘talks about Jaimi often’ with her three-year-old grandson, Flynn Gruell.

Lisa went on to encourage people who are struggling to seek the help they need.

‘Keep fighting and don’t give up. Where there is life there is hope. Life is so precious and there’s so much to look forward to.’

She concluded her essay with a final tribute to her daughter.
