Kyle Sandilands, 50, ‘could die instantly’ as he reveals shock diagnosis

Kyle Sandilands has long been open about his health problems over the years.

And the radio presenter, 50, revealed his latest worrying diagnosis on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday.

Kyle said his doctor was ‘very worried’ about him because his ‘blood pressure is through the roof’ and warned he could ‘die instantly’ at any moment.

‘You could instantly die’: Radio host Kyle Sandilands said on Thursday his doctor was ‘very worried’ about him because his ‘blood pressure is through the roof’

Kyle explained he’d been trying to eat healthy lately and had even lost six kilograms, dropping from 145kg to 139kg.

‘I went to the doctor yesterday and the doctor is very worried. I’m on all these heavy blood pressure medications because I’m a maniac,’ Kyle said.

‘Blood pressure is still through the roof. He was very angry.

‘The doctor said, “Imagine the garden hose and we’re putting fire hydrant pressure through it – the nozzle in this case will be in your brain [and] your blood vessels will disintegrate and you will instantly die.”‘

Kyle said the doctor had told him he needed to instantly de-stress to control his blood pressure.

But he can’t de-stress because he’s worried about a close friend’s wife who is pregnant and unwell in hospital.

He revealed his doctor had even asked about drug use, but Kyle reassured him he hadn’t touched cocaine in a very long time.

He added that his doctor made him hop on the scales and he’s lost 6kgs so far on his healthy diet plan.

‘I’m eating better than ever before and I lost 6kgs. I got on the scales and it was 139kg,’ he said.

His co-host Jackie O was concerned for Kyle and remarked: ‘Weight goes hand in hand with health’.

She told Kyle she doesn’t want him stressing at work and warned producers to be on their A-game for Kyle.

The mother-of-one sweetly added: ‘We have to keep you calm and healthy’.

In May last year, Kyle revealed he could die any minute due to his sky-high blood pressure during an interview with 60 Minutes.

‘I could die – that means at any stage at any time day or night,’ Kyle said.

Kyle showed host Karl Stefanovic his home blood pressure machine could not even give a reading because his pressure was so high.

He said though there was a sign of improvement – with one recent promising reading almost reducing him to tears.

‘Two weeks ago I had the machine on and the blood pressure was good for the first time in 15 years,’ he said.

‘That’s when I got all emotional I started to well up, and nearly cried because I thought “Oh, maybe my pressure is under control. Maybe I won’t just die one day.”‘

In a demonstration of his blood pressure device, Kyle showed how his blood pressure was 292 over 94 – when a healthy reading was 120 over 80.

In October 2019, he told The Daily Telegraph he was eating healthier, and had stopped drinking excessive amounts of alcohol and taking drugs.

‘Now, if I did one line, I’d be dead in five seconds,’ he said at the time.

He added: ‘I was like a teenage boy my entire life, and that caught up with me… so that had to get sorted out.’

He had taken cocaine and marijuana ‘on and off’ over the years, before deciding to completely cut them out of his life – as well as alcohol and sugary junk food.
