Kim Cattrall looks relaxed in a sunny snap as Sex And The City reboot goes ahead without Samantha

She decided not to return to the the Sex And The City reboot, named And Just Like That, following a feud with Sarah Jessica Parker.

And Kim Cattrall, 64, who played sex kitten Samantha Jones, shared a sun-kissed snap from an unknown location on Instagram on Tuesday, donning a spotted kaftan and blue NASA cap.

The post comes after her co-stars Parker, Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Brady) and Kristin Davis, (Charlotte York Goldenblatt) all began filming the new series in New York.

Wearing a large pair of black sunglasses, Kim shared an insight of her scenic surrounding with her Instagram followers.

She blurred the sun and waves, meaning she was in focus as she posed on a beach-chair and captioned the snap ‘#nasa.’

Someone joked: ‘Woah, if NASA were thinking about PR, they’d be scooping up this photo’.

The Nasa branding comes as she poked fun at her absence from Sex And The City reboot last month, fooling fans that she was embarking on a NASA mission.

The Liverpool-born star reprised her role in the revival called And Just Like That, which is currently in production.

However, Kim had fans convinced last month that the real reason she wasn’t taking part in the reboot was due to a NASA mission.

Sex And The City fans have been quick to lament her absence from the new show.

One joked: ‘Going to have to change the title cause there ain’t no sex without Samantha.’

The new incarnation of the show, renamed And Just Like That, will run for ten episodes on HBO.

The network’s chief content officer, Casey Bloys, reflected on Samantha’s exit, saying: ‘Just as in real life, people come into your life, people leave. Friendships fade and new friendships start.’

For Kim and Sarah Jessica Parker, known to her fans as SJP, it seems the friendship did not fade but was never there to begin with.

Explaining why she would not return, Kim said in 2019: ‘It’s a “no” from me. You learn lessons in life and my lesson is to do work with good people and try and make it fun.’

The previous year, their frosty relationship played out on social media after the death of Kim’s brother Chris.

When SJP sent her condolences online, Golden-Globe winner Kim thought the sentiment was disingenuous and posted: ‘My mom asked me today, “when will that Sarah Jessica Parker . . . leave you alone?”

‘Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now.’

SJP, 56, has denied a feud, saying she had ‘never uttered an unkind, unsupportive, unfriendly word’.

Kim’s most recent project was last year’s TV show, Filthy Rich, but production costs during Covid put paid to a second series.

Meanwhile, SJP was joined by co-stars Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda, and Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte, to film on the streets of the Big Apple last week for the new show that chronicles their struggles with life and love in their 50s.
