Katie Holmes was seen taking a solo stroll in New York City‘s bohemian East Village – known for its vintage shops and outdoor cafes – on Friday morning.
The 42-year-old performer cut a very casual figure in a toned-down outfit as she made her way along the Big Apple’s sidewalks while getting herself a bit of fresh air.
The actress’ outing comes prior to the premiere of her second directorial debut, which is currently set to be made available to the public next year.

Holmes sported an oversized olive green overcoat while spending time in the fresh summertime air.
The Batman Begins actress also wore a wide-legged pair of purple pants that were offset by a pair of bright white New Balance sneakers.
Her gorgeous brunette locks fell onto her shoulders, and she kept a sizable leather bag slung over her right shoulder.
The performer notably sported a blue facial covering to keep herself protected from COVID-19 while spending time around other people.

Holmes wrapped filming on her second directorial debut earlier this year.
The forthcoming romance feature, which was filmed in Connecticut, is centered around a pair of strangers who find themselves sequestered in the same Airbnb in the early stages of the pandemic.
The individuals then strike up an unlikely romance while attempting to deal with the lasting effects of the global pandemic.
The performer previously made her directorial debut with the 2016 drama feature All We Had, in which she also starred.

Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman, who serve as producers on the film, gave a statement to Deadline where they expressed that they were happy to have worked with Holmes.
‘As soon as we read this script, and heard Katie’s vision, we knew this was a project we had to be a part of. Katie is just as talented a writer/director as she is an actress,’ they said.
The performer also gave a statement to the media outlet where she noted that she was happy to have worked on a feature with timely themes.
‘I am so grateful to have been supported in telling a story about this particular time in all of our lives and I am proud to be a part of this team of creatives,’ she said.

Earlier this year, Holmes launched a production company with her collaborators, as well as Jesse Korman, which was given the title of Lafayette Pictures.
The creative partners are currently prepping a feature entitled Rare Objects, and the actress spoke about her enthusiasm for the project to Deadline.
‘I am very excited to embark on this journey, working to bring authentic characters and stories to the screen,’ she noted.
Plot details about the forthcoming project, as well as a potential release date, have not been made public as of yet.
