Kanye West ‘to make surprise appearance or performance’ at the MTV Video Music Awards

22-time Grammy winner Kanye West is rumored to be making a surprise appearance at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards happening at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

The 44-year-old rapper-designer ‘has been added on as a secret, last minute performer’ for the fan-voted ceremony airing Sunday night at 8pm EST – according to Page Six.

It makes sense considering Ye’s estranged wife Kim Kardashian, mother-in-law Kris Jenner, and sister-in-law Kourtney Kardashian have all jetted from Calabasas to the Big Apple.

‘With the Kardashians in town for New York Fashion Week and the Met Gala, we hear they [Kim and Kourtney] may be making an appearance as well,’ the MTV source told the mag.

‘Especially since Kourtney’s beau, Travis Barker, is performing with good friend Machine Gun Kelly.’

West – whose new album Donda has surpassed 1B streams – has taken home five Moon Men trophies including the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2015.

And back in 2009, the Atlanta-born father-of-four notoriously stormed the stage to steal the mic from best female video winner Taylor Swift to declare Beyoncé the true ‘winner.’
