Jill Duggar debuts blonde ‘do as Josh begins child porn trial and SHE is named a potential witness

Jill Duggar has gone from brunette to blonde as she prepares to potentially testify as a witness in her brother Josh’s child pornography trial — about two decades after he molested her as a child.

The 30-year-old debuted her new locks on Instagram and her family blog on Tuesday just as Josh’s trial began.

During jury selection, Jill’s name appeared on a list of ‘confirmed or potential’ witnesses that were presented by the judge, multiple sources have confirmed.

In light of news that she may appear in court, photos of her hair transformation have prompted many fans to show support on social media, with comments like ‘You are so ready! Go. Get. Them,’ and ‘It’s your power look. Walk in there like you own the place.’

‘So…I did a thing today thanks to [Michelle Gamboa] @michellegamboahair,’ Jill wrote on Instagram.

On her blog, she added: ‘So, today I dyed my hair for the first time ever.’

Photos show her debuting a tousled blonde mane, with a lighter color at the top and a slightly darker color at the tips, which come halfway down her torso.

Jill, who also sports a hoop nose ring in the pictures, is clearly pleased with the results and is seen grinning.

In a video shared by her stylist, Jill records her own reaction as she sees the finished look.

‘Oh my word!’ she says, bouncing in her chair with a huge smile. ‘You nailed it. Nailed it! Oh my word! Oh my goodness.’

Supportive comments have poured in, with many speculating that Jill died her hair as a sort of armor to feel her best if she is called on to testify against her brother.

‘Yes, girl! We’re all cheering for you! You’re a strong woman, you got this!’ wrote one.

‘Take care of yourself this week. We all love you!’ wrote another.

‘When you walk through those doors, I wish you could have This is My Fight song playing!! Praying for you as the Lord continues to give you the strength to seek truth and justice,’ said a third.

Another said the look was ‘absolutely gorgeous and fitting for the strong queen you are! while another urged her to ‘Speak your truth!’

‘Walk into that courtroom like you own the place and look that monster dead in the eye. He has no control over you anymore. You are a survivor and a warrior,’ one more chimed in.

Even her sister Joy Anna chimed in, though she made no allusions to the trial: ‘You did it!!! Your hair is beautiful, Jill! love this new look.’

Jill shared the news on Tuesday evening, just hours after The Sun revealed that she might get her day in court to speak about the abuse she suffered at the hands of her brother.

According to People, Jill and brother Jedidiah, 22, were on a list of potential witnesses presented during jury selection — and though they noted that it is unclear if they are witnesses for the prosecution or defense, it seems unlikely that Josh’s lawyers would call on one of his victism to testify.

In fact, Josh’s lawyers have even tried to cast doubt on whether he molested Jill and four other minors at all — even though Jill, her sister Jessa, and their parents Jim Bob and Michelle all spoke to Megyn Kelly on Fox News about it in 2015.

In court filings, Josh’s lawyers tried to get information about the molestation banned from the trial, insisting that it is ‘unclear’ if the ‘uncharged allegations actually constitute a crime’ of sexual assault in the second degree ‘under Arkansas state law.’

They asserted that the police report, which was leaked by inTouch in 2015, is ‘heavily redacted’ and ‘includes no names or dates of birth of anyone involved’ — which they say makes it ‘exceedingly difficult for anyone, much less this Court … to determine whether Duggar actually committed the acts alleged’ in the police report.

They also said that even if the acts were committed, they may not have ‘constituted a crime.

Yet speaking to Megyn Kelly in 2015, Jill confirmed that she was 12 when Josh ‘inappropriately touched’ her, to use Megyn’s words.

At the time, though, Jill maintained on television that Josh only touched her outside of her clothes, and that it was done while she was asleep. Using similar phrases as her parents, she said that she didn’t even know that it had happened until Josh confessed to their parents, and their parents told her.

But her actions since have hinted at something else.

In February, Jill told Us Weekly about the importance of teaching her sons about about their bodies and sex ‘in an effort to protect them.’

‘We definitely want our kids also to have the ability to protect themselves,’ Jill said. ‘Knowledge is power and you would be amazed at a three and five-year-old — our kids now — just learning about their body.’

Jill’s insistence on being open and honest with her children likely comes from personal experience.

She and Derick said that they are turning to books and podcasts for guidance on age-appropriate lessons.

‘What our five-year-old might know, our three-year-old might not,’ Jill said.

Derick added: ‘Growing up, we always learned the anatomical names for body parts and didn’t use colloquial names or euphemisms or whatever, which I think can protect against abuse.’

When Josh was arrested, Derick said that 'obviously if there is anything there related to child pornography, we hope that justice is done'

‘Because then whenever kids talk about things that went on, then people might not know what they’re talking about. But if you’re open and honest with your kids, they’ll feel comfortable talking to you. And if they say something happened, it’s very clear what happened.’

Jill also indicated that they are teaching their children about body autonomy.

‘In our bathroom, we have a little sign, “My Body Rules.” If there’s a babysitter here in our home, they’re gonna see that too,’ she said.

Jill has made few comments explicitly about Josh, though she and Derick did speak out shortly after his arrest.

‘We’re very sad about the whole thing, it’s horrible. It’s all very sad. Josh’s wife Anna is pregnant with their seventh child, I cannot imagine how she is feeling,’ they told The Sun.

Derick said that ‘obviously if there is anything there related to child pornography, we hope that justice is done’.

‘I don’t think anybody supports child pornography. We’re sad for Anna, put yourself in her situation and imagine how you would feel if that happened with your family member. I imagine it would be really hard,’ he added.
