Influencer Ellie Watson is forced to hit back at rumours she’s set to star in Byron Baes

Influencer and online store owner Ellie Watson was forced to hit back at rumours she’s starring in the controversial Byron Baes, after an unfortunate case of mistaken identity.

Ellie, a nutritionist and dietitian who goes by her maiden name of Ellie Bullen on Instagram, shared a video to her stories this week after Pedestrian incorrectly included a link to her profile in their cast piece.

The publication appeared to have confused Ellie with brunette Elle Watson, who is reportedly set to star in the show.

Sorry folks! This week, Influencer Ellie Watson was forced to hit back at rumours she’s set to star in Byron Baes

Blonde bombshell Ellie shared a screenshot of the mistake in the article and called it ‘fake news,’ before explaining the mess up.

‘No, I’m confirming I’m not on Byron Baes, that article was just released which used my image along with the name Elle Watson and my name is Ellie Watson,’ she said, referring to her married name.

‘That’s not me, I don’t work for an investment company, they just pulled my image off Instagram, I think the reporter was rushing to write a story and didn’t properly research the name they were leaking…’

She added: ‘I’m confirmed 100 per cent not on the show and I wasn’t even asked, so no, not me.’

Ellie, who boasts 754,000 Instagram followers, also said that she’s from Lennox Head, not Byron Bay. Her image and Instagram profile link have since been removed from the story.

The mother-of-one added a selfie holding up the peace sign and cheekily quipped: ‘Waiting for Netflix to call me for my casting.’

Others in the cast include investment company employee Elle Watson, influencer Jade Kevin Foster and spiritualistic therapist Simba Ali.

Rounding out the cast is Kyle Sandilands’ former assistant-turned-manager Alex Reid, fashion designer Jess Bell and her model sister Lauren.

The unveiling of the cast comes after Netflix were recently forced to apologise to the stars of the show for painting them as ‘influencers’ and ‘hot Instagrammers’.

Netflix’s Director of Originals in Australia Que Minh Luu confirmed that the cast ‘hated’ a recent PR post describing the upcoming series.

‘They are artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, business owners, models, on a spiritual journey and more,’ Que wrote to her 7k followers.

‘Most of them hated the press release too! Did a lot of apologising that week. Fired the PR team (lol joking about firing, we’re all learning together).’

She added: ‘They understand the power of influence. They are part of Byron. They understand the creative vision of the show that has been developed with them over several months.

Que was responding after many mocked the press release, which read: ‘It’s not just Chris and Zac’s backyard, it’s the playground of more celebrity-adjacent-adjacent influencers than you can poke a selfie stick at’.
