As Carly brings back her web series for 2021 her pals Spencer and Freddie vow to lend a hand in the venture ‘however we can.’

‘Dammit!’ says Spencer aware of the humiliation he is going to have to suffer when his baby character is brought back.

His fears prove to be well-founded as he has to stick his head out through a hole in the bottom of the crib where it is surrounded by a tiny baby costume.

Carly splashes a bit of cream on his face and then begins spreading it around prompting Baby Spencer to yelp: ‘Argh, I don’t think this is how you do it!’

However Carly’s new friends seem impressed by the success of the bit with Millicent saying: ‘People are weirdly loving this.’

At one point the trailer shows the extent of Carly’s stardom when she poses for a selfie in front of a painting of herself in the style of Andy Warhol’s Four Marilyns.

‘This is your moment to shine!’ Harper encourages her in one scene before advising her ‘you need to be a trailblazer!’

‘Like an effortless trailblazer!’ says Carly joking: ‘Like I just got out of bed and was all: “Oops, I just blazed a trail!”‘

To drive home the point that the show is about adults now the trailer depicts them multiple time enjoying alcoholic beverages.

At one point however Spencer and Freddie’s enjoyment is tempered by the fact Spencer heated up the beer – he says on advice from Guy Fieri.

Meanwhile Freddie is seen mingling with a girl at a cocktail party only for his mother to interrupt: ‘Freddie! I put your warm milk in your Thermos next to your bed?’

‘So we done here?’ Freddie defeatedly asks the woman he is speaking to who smiles in agreement and wanders off.

Wacky hijinks ensue including Freddie apparently helping Spencer with some sort of exercise and complaining: ‘This is not how I imagined my life.’

During the original series which ran from 2007 to 2012 Carly and Freddie get romantically involved and even kiss on the finale but have since evidently split up.
