Husband of missing mom Suzanne Morphew sells off their home for $1.6M 10 months after disappearance

The husband of missing Colorado mom Suzanne Morphew has sold the home they shared together for $1.62 million – 10 months after her mysterious disappearance.

Barry Morphew finalized the sale of the three-bedroom residence in rural Salida on Thursday, according to a copy of the sales deed, which was obtained by FOX 21.

The buyer is listed as ‘Mountain Renewal’ – a Limited Liability Company from Nevada.

Barry and Suzanne’s names both appear as the sellers on the deed – meaning money from the sale is likely to be transferred into a joint account.

Barry, 52, raised eyebrows last October when he first put the home on the market for $1.75 million –  just five months after Suzanne, 50, went missing.

Suzanne reportedly set off from the home on a bike ride on Mother’s Day, May 10, and has not been seen since. The FBI searched the home twice in the weeks following her disappearance, seizing several items for forensic examination.

The couple had lived at the home with their adult daughters, Mallory and Macy, since April 2018.

Barry previously told CBS4 that he decided to sell of the home because Mallory and Macy are too scared to stay there because they believe it was the site of Suzanne’s abduction.

But the family home is not the only property Barry has offloaded in recent months.

Back in February, he also sold a two-acre plot of land in Salida back for $150,000.

Barry had only purchased that plot of land in June of last year – just weeks after Suzanne disappeared.

Last September, DailyMail.com reported that cadaver dogs picked up the scent of human remains during a search of the estate where that plot of land was located.

The search for Suzanne is still ongoing.

Late last year, the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office said they were still working ‘closely and tirelessly’ with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the 11th Judicial District to find the mom-of-two.

However, her family appear to have given up home that she will be found alive.

She was listed as ‘presumed dead’ in her father’s obituary following his death back in November.

Suzanne was last seen by Barry, on the morning of Mother’s Day, May 10 before he left their home and traveled to Denver for a landscaping job.

It’s theorized Suzanne set out on a bike ride some time after Barry’s departure, but no eyewitnesses saw her out. Her bike was later discovered abandoned on a rural track a short distance from her home.

Suzanne was reported missing after daughters Mallory and Macy were unable to contact her when they returned from an out-of-state camping trip. Her bicycle was later discovered abandoned on a rural track a short distance from the home.

Last September, DailyMail.com exclusively reported that the scent of human remains was discovered near the plot of land owned by Barry, which he sold off in February.

That same month, a co-worker exclusively told DailyMail.com that a hotel room that Barry had booked out in Denver for the night of May 10 stank of bleach and was littered with wet towels.

Barry – who has offered a $100,000 reward for Suzanne’s safe return – previously theorized that his wife may have been taken by a wild animal. He now says he believes she was abducted.

Suzanne’s brother, Andy Moorman, has blasted Barry for his behavior following Suzanne’s mysterious vanishing, implicating him in her disappearance.

‘I don’t think she ever got on her bike. I think she probably died on May 9 and she was hidden somewhere that night… I’m afraid this is domestic abuse,’ Moorman previously told FOX31.

But Barry blasted back in his interview with CBS 4 late last year, alleging that Andy had been a bad brother to Suzanne and had never shown any interest in her prior to her headline-hitting disappearance.

‘I’ve spent many nights… [with] Suzanne crying on my shoulder, asking why her siblings refuse to show her love,’ Barry claimed.

Police have asked anyone who may have engaged with Suzanne on Facebook, Instagram, Voxer, FaceTime or WhatsApp to come forward and call the tip line on 719-312-7530.
