He’s the former Triple M radio host who considers Hugh Jackman one his closest friends.

And on Sunday, Gus Worland revealed that despite having a net worth of a whopping $200million, Hugh would be the last person to offer to pay the bill when hanging out.

Speaking to Sam Armytage’s Something To Talk About podcast, Gus described the Hollywood star as the ‘tightest bloke’ who always claims to have forgotten his wallet during a night out.

‘Hugh is unbelievable. He is the tightest bloke you’ve ever come across honestly,’ he said.

Gus then spoke of one incident while dining out with Hugh in New York City, when it came to paying the bill Hugh began tapping his jacket pockets before he said he didn’t have his wallet.

‘Normally he’s got people with him or he’s invited so he just strolls in and strolls out,’ Gus revealed.

‘I’m like this is an issue, I’m not sure if I’ve got enough money left on my credit cards to get this done,’ he recalled.

Gus then recalled a second incident the actor ‘forgot his wallet’ when dining out in Los Angeles.

He explained even after their $3,000 dinner bill was evenly divided, Hugh had an excuse for not being able to pay his share of $300.

Speaking of their long-running friendship, Gus said Hugh was his ‘oldest mate in the world’.

‘He’s my gotcha for life friend,’ he gushed. ‘I speak to him three or four times a day, he likes to Facetime. We chat away on a whole lot of things.’  

Gus also told the podcast that the pair have set plans to hang out in Sydney once the actor leaves mandatory hotel quarantine.
