Hafthor ‘The Mountain’ Julius Bjornsson shows off his impressive 120-POUND weight loss

Game of Thrones star Hafthor Juliuss Bjornsson played The Mountain on the hit fantasy show, but he’s not quite as massive as he used to be.

The 32-year-old actor and professional strongman, who won the 2018 World’s Strongest Man competition, showed off his immense weight loss in a new Instagram snap on Thursday.

Bjornsson is prepping for a big boxing match against pro arm wrestler, revealing in a recent Muscle & Health interview that he has shed around 100 pounds for the fight.

The actor/strongman shared a selfie showing off his shredded physique, adding, ‘Today was a good day. Good night champs.’

Bjornsson has clearly been putting the work in, showing off his six-pack abs ahead of the fight, which is happening in Dubai this coming Saturday.

He was originally slated to fight his longtime rival Eddie Hall, which has been in the works for the past few years.

Unfortunately, Hall tore his bicep while training this past July, which lead to Larratt coming aboard to replace him.

Back in early December 2019, Bjornsson took to Instagram to share a similar snap, though he revealed he was, ‘192kg/423lbs!!’

While the actor didn’t specify in his post how much he weighs now, he revealed in an interview with Muscle & Health that the last time he weighed himself, he was at 149kg/328lbs.

‘I don’t really weigh myself, but the last time I did, I was 149kgs. I’m not getting heavier, that’s a fact,’ Bjornsson said.

‘I don’t really have a plan for fight weight. I just want to be in good shape, feel good, and obviously be able to last the full six rounds if necessary,’ he added.

Bjornsson said that he started this boxing journey to fight Eddie Hall, who have had beef since Bjornsson broke Hall’s world deadlift record.

Hall was the first to break 1,100 pounds, deadlifting 1,102 pounds at the 2016 Giants Live World Deadlift Championships.

Bjornsson broke that record last year with 1,104 pounds, though he did it at his home gym during the COVID-19 pandemic, which Hall thinks makes it invalid since it wasn’t at an official weightlifting meet.

Bjornsson and Hall’s fight has been postponed to 2022, while the actor/strongman gets ready to fight Larratt on Saturday.
