Frank Sinatra’s former LA home is transformed into a lavish fashion playground for Hermès dinner

The Los Angeles estate that legendary singer Frank Sinatra once called home was transformed into a fashion playground complete with cherry red décor and synchronized swimmers for Hermès’ star-studded ‘Grand Soir’ dinner.

Leslie Mann, Judd Apatow, Kathryn Hahn, Victoria Pedretti, and Yvonne Orji were among the famous faces who traveled to the iconic midcentury property in Chatsworth, a San Fernando Valley suburb, to celebrate the luxury brand’s spring/summer 2022 collection.

The dress code for Wednesday’s event was ‘formal red and black attire’ — a nod to the 13-acre estate’s bold makeover imagined by artistic director Stefan Beckman

The sprawling home is known for its floor-to-ceiling windows and minimalist white walls, but everyone was seeing red thanks to Hermès.

There was a red botanical mural created by Alan Carroll Studio while the walls, carpets, couches, cushions, books, phones, and bed were all red with touches of black and white dispersed throughout the rooms.

The décor also featured commissioned paintings depicting looks from the new collection. The works of art were created by female artists, including Greta Waller and Romina Bassu, according to Women’s Wear Daily

Guests were treated to a surprise performance art-inspired runway show narrated by filmmaker, artist, and writer Miranda July.

The models each strut around the pool and struck a pose on a red sculpture while wearing pieces from the French fashion house’s spring/summer 2022 evening wear collection designed by Nadège Vanhée-Cybulski.

The looks were all red, black, and white, and while some of the designs were seen on the runway in October, others were done in new colorways or never seen before, Vogue reported.

A seated dinner was hosted in the garden, and right before the DJ took the stage, there was another surprise performance: a synchronized swimming show by the Aqualillies.

The dinner party comes less than a year after the home went on sale for a whopping $21.5 million last spring.

Banking heiress Dora Hutchinson commissioned architect William Pereira to build the estate, which she named ‘Farralone’ after it was completed in 1951

When she moved to New York, she leased the place to Sinatra, who lived there for a decade in the 1950s and 1960s. During his time at the estate, Ol’ Blue Eyes hosted legendary parties attended by the crème de la crème of Hollywood.

Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, and Sinatra’s Rat Pack buddies Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin are said to have been among the guests at the soirees.

Monroe sublet the property’s guest house from Sinatra, and the home’s swimming pool is said to be the site of one of the star’s final photoshoots.

The guest house itself is believed to be where she secretly met John F. Kennedy during their alleged affair.

JFK is one of American history’s most iconic politicians but he was equally notable for his playboy antics, which have seen him linked to a slew of big names from the ’50s and ’60s, most notably Monroe.

Despite there being no real evidence the two ever enjoyed a romantic relationship, rumors and conspiracy theories abound.

More recently, the estate has been featured in the hit shows Mad Men and Big Little Lies, as well as music videos for top artists, including Mariah Carey, Usher, and Rihanna.

The luxurious home, now known as Byrdview, has undergone a huge remodel since Sinatra’s 1960s heyday.

Deluxe finishes include a home bar, gym, and a large chef’s kitchen. The house is also kitted out with top-of-the-line appliances and a handful of fireplaces

The property is perched on a hilltop with 360-degree views over LA, the mountains, and the surrounding 3,000 acres of nature preserve.

It’s listed for $21.5 million through Craig Knizek of The Agency, Beverly Hills.
