Four NYPD officers and two civilians have been hospitalized after a police-involved shooting in Brooklyn on Thursday night. 

An FDNY spokesperson told PIX 11 that the officers and two civilians were transported by Emergency Medical Squad personnel to local hospitals, and one officer was injured. It’s not clear whether the two civilians were directly involved in the shooting.

Police later told PIX11 one civilian was shot, and no officers were struck by gunfire. 

Authorities said the incident happened on Halsey Street and Wilson Avenue in Bushwick around 10:30 p.m., according to ABC 7.

They said police were involved in the shooting, and several people were shot. 

In a tweet, the New York Police Department warned people to avoid the area, and expect a large police presence.
