She added a pair of nude high heels to the ensemble, and went light on accessories but for a ring, earrings and a dainty gold necklace.

The princess carried a red cushioned clutch purse, and wore her brunette hair down around her face.

Mary opted for a natural makeup palette, highlighting her youthful features with soft blush and a hint of eyeshadow.

The famously down-to-earth royal, born Mary Donaldson in Hobart, Tasmania, is known for championing small Danish businesses and putting her name to charitable initiatives, particularly those that support women and children.

She serves as patron for more than 25 organisations in addition to raising the four children she shares with husband, Crown Prince Frederik, 53.

They are parents to Prince Christian, 15, Princess Isabella, 14, and 10-year-old twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.

Mary’s husband of 17 years will ascend to the throne following the death or abdication of his mother, Queen Margrethe, 81.

The Princess was made a regent by her mother-in-law in October 2018, meaning she can perform duties as head of state when the Queen is otherwise engaged.

Mary was the fourth member of the Danish royal family to be named regent after Frederik, his brother Prince Joachim, and the Queen’s sister Princess Benedikte, who are all official stand-ins for the monarch.
