Chris Hemsworth flies home to Byron Bay for the weekend on private jet

Chris Hemsworth was heading home to Bryon Bay for the weekend on Saturday.

The actor, 37, who has been filming in Sydney, boarded a private jet in the harbour city along with two friends.

Also on the flight was his personal trainer, Ross Edgley, a extreme adventurer, ultra-marathon sea swimmer who has been helping Chris bulk up his muscles.

Additionally, Chris was in the company of his good friend, Matt Damon’s wife Luciana Barroso, who appeared to have her daughter in tow.

The star made his way to the jet looking casually cool, wearing a white t-shirt and dark jeans.

Despite living in Byron Bay, Chris has been spending plenty of time in Sydney of late.

He has finished filming Thor: Love and Thunder and is shooting the upcoming Mad Max sequel, Furiosa.

Directed by George Miller and produced by Doug Mitchell, Furiosa will be the largest movie ever filmed in Australia, adding 850 local jobs and injecting at least $350million into the local economy.

The film is slated for release in 2023, and will star Anya Taylor-Joy in the title role.

Chris and his wife Elsa Pataky moved to Bryon Bay with their children, daughter India Rose, eight, and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, seven, in 2014.

They live in the suburb of Broken Head, a 20-minute drive from central Byron, in a mega-mansion estimated to be worth $30million.

They spent years renovating their home, which sits on 4.2 hectares of land, with the help of Sydney-based MCK Architects – but the development faced some resistance from locals, who compared it to a multi-storey car park or shopping centre.

The property features a 50-metre infinity pool, a large Indigenous mural, two bars and a gym complex including steam, sauna and massage rooms.

Elsa has been shooting her new action movie Interceptor in Sydney, for streaming service Netflix.

The actress recently told The Sydney Morning Herald that there are downsides to moving from the laid-back seaside enclave of Byron Bay to the big smoke.

She said: ‘It’s a whole new experience… I can’t dress down as much as I do in Byron Bay – we hope to get back there on the weekends.’

Elsa added that the couple’s three children will be schooled in the city for the time being.

The actress went on to say that living in Australia has been the right decision for the previously LA-based family.

‘Byron has been beautiful. We made the right decision in 2014 to leave LA and come to Australia – it’s been great for the kids to be in nature, enjoy animals and go horse riding,’ she said.

Luckily the move to Sydney is only temporary, while the pair work on their separate projects in Sydney.
