Sharon Carr was arrested on a charge of first-degree burglary after Cheetos residue linked her to the scene of a home invasion in Tulsa on Friday

An Oklahoma woman was jailed last week after Cheetos residue stuck in her teeth linked her to the scene of an attempted burglary, police have revealed.

Sharon Carr was arrested on a charge of first-degree burglary after cops say she committed a home invasion in Tulsa on Friday at around 8pm.

The Tulsa Police Department (TPD) were summoned to a home near 67th and South Sheridan to reports of a person attempting to force their way through a window.

The female victim was alone in the residence with two small children. She told dispatchers another woman had pried a screen door off her window, climbed inside, but hadn’t stolen anything.

Moments after they arrived, investigators found an empty bag of Cheetos and a bottle of water on the floor near the open window.

Police said they believed the burglar dropped the bag of dust-covered cheese puffs as she made her hasty escape out of the home.

Carr is believed to have fled after being spooked when she heard the residents inside the home.

According to police, Carr emerged from the shadows as officers were still working the scene, KTUL reported.

The victim then ID’d Carr as the burglar after seeing her.

Carr was then further linked to the crime after officers found Cheetos residue stuck in her teeth.

‘A good reminder that Cheeto dust can be pretty hard to get rid of,’ TPD wrote in a post on Facebook.

Carr was arrested on a first-degree burglary complaint. She offered no reason for committing the crime, police said.
