Comedian Cedric the Entertainer spent more time mocking the real royals than the fictional ones on Netflix‘s The Crown while hosting the Emmys Sunday night. 

The comic, 57 devoted a portion of his monologue to discussing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s interview with Oprah Winfrey.    

‘As great as The Crown is, it pales in comparison to the real monarchy,’ Cedric said. ‘I mean that Oprah interview with Prince Harry and Megan. That was the real tea right there, wasn’t it?’

The Barbershop star went in on the entire royal family. 

‘Meghan must put it on that boy because he renounced his throne quicker than Eddie Murphy in Coming to America,’ he added.

The interview, which debuted to 17 million viewers in the US alone and 60 million worldwide in March, was itself nominated for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special.

The stars of the Netflix series The Crown looked on as the comedian joked.

Meanwhile, The Crown, which spans generations of the British royal family, was the night’s biggest winner, taking home seven trophies. 

The Crown won for Best Drama, lead actor and actress awards for Josh O’Connor and Olivia Colman, supporting actor and actress trophies for Tobias Menzies and Gillian Anderson, as well as awards for directing and writing. 

The series has won 21 Emmys overall since premiering in 2017.
