Costar, Zoe Kazan, will portray Kantor, whose reporting also helped ignited the  #MeToo movement in 2017.

Rebecca Lenkiewicz, whose previous scripts include a biopic of the French writer Colette starring Keira Knightley, wrote the screenplay for She Said.

Mulligan showed off shoulder-length blonde tresses back in April while competing for an Academy Award for her critically acclaimed revenge thriller Promising Young Woman, but has switched to a darker shade to more accurately portray Twohey.

Twohey and Kantor were the authors of the New York Times report that blew open the story of Harvey Weinstein’s sexual predation.

Meanwhile the director on the project is German filmmaker Maria Schrader who previously helmed the acclaimed Yiddish-language Netflix miniseries Unorthodox.

Carey drew rapturous critical acclaim last year for her leading role in the feminist revenge film Promising Young Woman directed by Emerald Fennell.

She received an Oscar nomination for best actress for her work in the film but lost out to Frances McDormand for the Chloe Zhao movie Nomadland.
