When asked about the latest in the Grammy-winning pop star’s conservatorship, Asghari said ‘Free Britney!’ while he flexed his arm.

Britney’s career remains at a crossroads as the legal situation continues to go through the court, as her longtime manager Larry Rudolph resigned last month, citing that Britney told him she had an ‘intention to officially retire’ from her career as a musical artist.

‘Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire,’ he told Jamie Spears and co-conservator Jodi Montgomery in a letter last month. ‘As her manager, I believe it is in Britney’s best interest for me to resign from her team as my professional services are no longer needed.’

Lawyers for Jamie Spears, 69, told a Los Angeles court last week that he was planning on stepping back from his position atop the conservatorship, which has been in place since 2008.

Jamie Spears ‘does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests,’ his legal team said, adding that he ‘is willing to step down when the time is right, but the transition needs to be orderly and include a resolution of matters.’

Jamie Spears’ lawyers said he’s been ‘the unremitting target of unjustified attacks’ amid the publicly contested arrangement, which has seen a nationwide group of supporters for the singer dubbed the #FreeBritney movement frequently taking to the streets to demonstrate against the legal arrangement swirling around the songstress.

Britney Spears spoke in a June 23 hearing about her hopes to end the arrangement, which was initially implemented in 2008 amid a pileup of personal problems.

‘I just want my life back,’ she said. ‘And it’s been 13 years. And it’s enough. It’s been a long time since I’ve owned my money. And it’s my wish and my dream for all of this to end without being tested.’

Asghari, who’s been seen on shows including Family Business, Hacks and Black Monday, has been a supportive presence at Spears’ side amid the tenuous times involving the public family battle over the conservatorship.

Asghari initially met Spears in 2016 when they worked together on her video for the track Slumber Party, and they began dating soon thereafter.

The issue is set to come before the court in a September 29 hearing.
