A body-positive influencer has slammed Kim Kardashian‘s SKIMS shapewear line after buying a size large thong that was painfully too small, explaining that she had even sized up when she had ordered it.
Mikayla Zazon, a 25-year-old blogger from Columbus, Ohio, tried on the constricting shapewear over her leggings and shared her horror over the sizing in a now-viral TikTok video that has been viewed more than 2.7 million times.
‘I ordered SKIMS because I’ve been hearing people rave about Kim Kardashian’s shapewear, and I decided to get it,’ she said at the start of the clip. ‘Because women’s sizing is so f’d up, of course, I decided to size up to a large.’

Unhappy customer: Mikayla Zazon, a 25-year-old influencer from Columbus, Ohio, tried on a constricting thong from Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS line in a now-viral TikTok video
Say what? Even though the thong was larger than her normal size, it was painfully tight and pushed her stomach above the waistband instead of smoothing it
Mikayla pointed out that she is a ‘straight-sized woman’ and typically wears a size small or medium. She couldn’t help but make a face when she held up the tiny nude thong for the camera.
‘I’m going to put them on over my leggings so you can see how bad it is,’ she said
The influencer’s jaw dropped in shock as she modeled the unflattering shapewear that pushed her stomach above the waistband instead of smoothing it.
‘Like I can’t make this up,’ she said after trying to pull them higher up.
Mikayla also took issue with the lack of coverage in the crotch area, asking: ‘Whose lips are supposed to fit into this? A large — this is the large.’
It still didn’t fit! Mikayla, who held up the tiny thong for the camera, explained that she typically wears a size small or medium, but she bought a large because ‘women’s sizing is so f’d up’
Hard to handle: The influencer’s jaw dropped in shock as she modeled the unflattering shapewear. She also took issue with the lack of coverage in the crotch area
‘KIM REALLY THOUGHT THIS WAS OKAY,’ she captioned the clip.
Thousands of people commented on the video, with some saying the same thing happened to them when they ordered pieces from the collection in their normal sizes or larger.
‘I got a small and literally cut them off… not sure if I’m still fertile,’ one person wrote, while another added: ‘Honey, I’m a large and got a large. So many tears were shed.’
‘I mean, she called it Shape Wear, she just didn’t tell you what shapes you’d be in the end,’ someone else joked.
In a follow-up clip, Mikayla shared that she had also ordered the thong in a medium to see which size would fit better, but it turned out that neither did.
Big mistake: In a follow-up clip, Mikayla shared that she had also purchased the thong in a size medium, and that one was so tight that she couldn’t walk
Ouch! When she stretched out the top of the thong to release the pressure, it snapped back, causing her to double over in pain
‘I forgot to tell you because I was so overwhelmed by how small the large was,’ she explained, holding up both sizes for the camera to show how tiny the medium was.
She did another try-on for viewers, and this time she could barely move while wearing the thong in her normal size.
‘It hurts to walk,’ she said. ‘Oh no, I can’t breathe.’
When she stretched out the top of the thong to release the pressure, it snapped back, causing her to double over in pain.
Mikayla hasn’t been the only person to go viral after taking grievances with Kim’s SKIMS line to TikTok.
Influencer: Mikayla has 860,000 TikTok followers as well as 856,000 on Instagram. More than 2.7 million people watched her video bashing SKIMS
Not alone: Thousands of people also commented on the video, with some saying the same thing happened to them when they ordered pieces from the collection
‘Hiii Kimberly. What is this?’ she asked, stepping back from the camera to show how the nude briefs give her an unflattering muffin top.
‘I thought SKIMS were supposed to make me look curvalicious. Not Winnie the Pooh wearing too small underwear,’ she griped. ‘I look like the Pillsbury Doughboy. I have two more butt cheeks than I started with.’
Adria then threw on a pair of tight black spandex shorts over the briefs, sarcastically asking the camera: ‘Do you like my curves?’
Not a fan: Last month, Adria Barich, 23, from Nevada, gave Kim’s SKIMS shapewear line a scathing review in viral TikTok video
Hitting back: Adria griped that the too-small shapewear made her look like the ‘Pillsbury Doughboy’ and ‘Winnie the Pooh wearing too small underwear’
‘Why yes, I am wearing shapewear,’ she continues. ‘Oh, you didn’t know? You couldn’t tell? That’s all.’
Some of Kim’s fans argued that Adria had just ordered the wrong size, but others pointed out that the issue is the fact that the line’s sizing is wonky in general.
‘The sizing is extremely inconsistent,’ Adria told BuzzFeed. ‘I ordered a size small/medium, which typically would fit me perfectly, but the shapewear I received could fit a doll.
‘It makes people feel bad about themselves because a size that normally would fit them is suddenly way too small.’
Kim has yet to respond to the SKIMS sizing backlash on TikTok.
