The Venice Film Festival is the world’s oldest film festival. It is known as one of the ‘Big Three’ film festivals, alongside the Berlin International Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival.
The international movie competition is directed by Alberto Barbera and organised by La Biennale Di Venezia.
Earlier in August, Benedict demonstrated his villain skills in a tense new trailer for the Western drama The Power Of The Dog.
The Doctor Strange actor put on a menacing display while playing cowboy Phil Burbank in the film adaptation of Thomas Savage’s 1967 novel.

In the clip, Cumberbatch’s cruel character is seen teasing and tormenting a widow played by Kirsten Dunst as he runs a ranch in 1925 Montana alongside his brother George, played by Kirsten’s husband Jesse Plemons.
Though Benedict harasses her character Rose and her on-screen son Peter, George takes a liking to them and marries her.
Furious at his new family members, Phil continues to lash out at Rose.
He’s then seen in a moment mentoring Peter, played by Kodi Smit-McPhee, prompting viewers to wonder if Phil could be kind or if he was plotting something sinister.
