Below Deck’s Dani Soares on her pregnancy and Jean-Luc rumours

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Everybody wants to know about it’: Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s Dani Soares opens up about her surprise pregnancy and romance with co-star Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux

Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans were blindsided this week when stewardess Dani Soares announced her surprise pregnancy.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday, the Sydney-based star opened up her difficult journey to motherhood and plans for the future.

The 33-year-old admitted that it ‘definitely’ hasn’t been an easy pregnancy now that she’s so far along.

EXCLUSIVE: Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Dani Soares has opened up about her surprise pregnancy in an interview with Daily Mail Australia

‘Once you get to a certain stage you just can’t sleep properly anymore, it’s like what your life’s gonna be like after the baby’s here,’ she said.

‘And I’ve been eating so much sweets… it’s pregnancy cravings because I’m usually more of a savoury person and I’ve just been binging ice creams and cakes and stuff like that – it’s not like me at all!’

However, the reality star played coy when asked exactly how far along she was and if her co-star Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux is the father of her unborn child.

‘I’m very far,’ she said cryptically before breaking into laughter.

She was also tight-lipped when asked which of her cast members she was still in contact with and was careful not to name anybody specifically.

Dani admitted that ‘everybody wants to know about’ her pregnancy, but she wanted to keep things private for as long as possible and had been disappointed when a fan posted a candid photo of her at work with a visible baby bump on social media before she had publicly announced anything.

‘I was just trying to hold onto it a little bit, it’s such a personal thing, but I’m actually very relieved that it’s out there and everybody knows about it,’ she said.

‘It was upsetting and inappropriate if I’m being honest,’ she added when asked about the leaked photo.

‘I work in a private clinic and I wasn’t aware that the picture was being taken but it’s out now. It’s okay, I forgive this person.’

While Dani has remained silent on the identity of her baby’s father, some fans have speculated that it could be Jean-Luc given their on-screen romance on the latest season of Sailing Yacht.

The couple have already hooked up several times on the series so far, and a recent midseason trailer promises plenty more romance between the two.

‘The more I get to know you I like you more,’ she tells Jean-Luc during a passionate kissing session.

‘Let’s have sex tonight, and if I get pregnant that’s god’s will!’ she exclaims.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the Brazilian-born Dani said that she plans to remain in Sydney and is focused on motherhood and finishing her nursing degree.

She also confirmed that she’s leaving yachting behind to pursue a new career.

‘I think seven years [in yachting] was enough,’ she said. ‘It’s a lot of time and I’m just looking forward to having a normal life now.

‘Below Deck was the perfect way to end that stage of my life, go out with a bang, and now back to a normal life, a normal job, hopefully finish my nursing degree soon.’

She added: ‘By soon I mean in a couple of years at least!’
