But before viewers saw Kerryn ‘Kez’ McGee on screen, she was busy focusing on her career as a professional bodybuilder.

While she still looks incredibly fit on Australian Survivor, it’s nothing compared to the physical shape she has to be in to compete in bodybuilding competitions.
Speaking to news.com.au, Kez shared some of her Survivor preparation fitness tips.
‘To build my endurance and grip, I did a lot of farmer walks, where you hold a kettlebell, keep your core in tight and start walking,’ she said.
‘I also did a lot of pull ups, and static hovers to build my core strength,’ she added.
Flashback: Before viewers saw Kez on screen, she was busy focusing on her career as a professional bodybuilder.
In one bodybuilding post from 2018, Kez wrote: ‘Strong mind, strong body, if you can dream it you can do it , believe in your self and kill it . Now next time I’m up there I’m going to win – DREAM BIG.’
Kez has become a fan favourite on Survivor this year, but early on in the season she received backlash from viewers after complaining about the cold weather in Cloncurry, where the series is filmed.
With temperatures dropping below 15C during the first night, Kez and her tribemates had to make do with what they’d packed.

The next day, she admitted she had a few regrets about what she’d decided to bring after an uncomfortable first night in the wilderness.
‘It’s freezing cold, and I’m just thinking, “Kez, why didn’t you bring a jacket? You’re in the outback, in the freezing cold, with a singlet and short-shorts on. Good idea, Kez,”‘ she reflected.
Many fans agreed, slamming the muscle-bound beauty for forgetting such a vital piece of clothing.
‘NTS [note to self]: bring a jacket to Survivor,’ tweeted one viewer, while another wrote: ‘Home girl didn’t bring a jacket I’m dead’.
Others were in disbelief that Kez would show up for Survivor so unprepared.
Backlash: Kez received some backlash from viewers early on in the season for failing to pack a jacket with her for the show
‘Survivor has been on for how many years and people still don’t train [for] months or weeks before to try [to] know how to start a fire. Or even think to bring a jacket?! It’s the outback; it’s going to be cold at night omg,’ vented one viewer.
‘Why wouldn’t you bring a jacket with you regardless of where you are,’ asked another, while one fan commented, ‘Not packing a jacket for #SurvivorAU makes you wonder if Kez really knew what she was in for.’
Added another incredulous fan: ‘If I was on #SurvivorAU, my one outfit would be layers on layers on layers. How can you forget to bring a jacket?!’
