Work is in full swing on the upcoming summer opening of Resorts World Las Vegas as the $4.3 billion luxury resort made another big announcement to build up anticipation.
The property and its partner Zouk Group on Wednesday announced that they have tapped multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning artist Zedd as its inaugural resident DJ.
Beginning this summer, Zedd will headline Zouk Nightclub and AYU Dayclub, the day- and nightlife experiences Zouk Group will be offering at the casino complex when it swings its doors open in a couple of months from now.
Part of the portfolio of Malaysian casino and hospitality powerhouse Genting Group, Resorts World Las Vegas is the first resort to be raised on the Strip in more than a decade. When it opens, it will feature a casino with a wide variety of gaming options, 3,500 rooms and suites operating under Hilton’s Hilton Hotels & Resorts, LXR, and Conrad brands, a pretty impressive restaurant and cocktail lounge lineup, and multiple entertainment facilities.
The Zouk club concept will be a notable part of the property’s entertainment experiences.
Resorts World Las Vegas said Wednesday that Zedd’s inaugural residency will be the first of an exciting group of talent that it has attracted to grace its stages.
A Second Home
Of joining Resorts World Las Vegas, Zedd said that after playing multiple shows in Las Vegas that have become “a central hub to connect with fans, friends and artists from all over the world”, the city has become like a second home to him, and that he “couldn’t be more excited to create a brand new and exciting show at my new home at Resorts World Las Vegas with Zouk Group.”
Founded in Singapore nearly three decades ago, Zouk Group has been providing immersive entertainment, nightlife, and dining concepts across Asia. In September 2015, it sold the rights to the Zouk brand to Genting Hong Kong. Last year, the latter company sold Zouk to Tulipa, a firm owned by the son of Genting Hong Kong’s CEO and Chairman.
Zouk Group and Resorts World Las Vegas announced their partnership last November. The alliance marked the nightclub owner’s first foray into the United States.
At the soon-to-open Las Vegas resort, Zouk Group will operate four distinct environments that will occupy nearly 100,000 square feet of space.
The four concepts will include Zouk Nightclub, an entertainment experience that is hugely popular in Singapore and other countries in the region, AYU Dayclub, an outdoor oasis “inspired by the beauty and harmonious atmosphere of Southeast Asia’s idyllic islands”, RedTail, an innovative social gaming bar where guests will be served premium beer, wine, cocktails, and shared plates while playing beer pong, darts, and more, and FUHU, which is advertised as an experiential dining venue that offers “an unexpected twist on contemporary Asian cuisine.”
Of welcoming Zedd as their inaugural resident DJ in Las Vegas, Zouk Group CEO Andrew Li said that “after several iconic performances at Zouk Group venues over the last decade, we are proud to now partner with Zedd and continue our long-standing relationship with him.” He also promised that their guests will be presented with “an immersive show experience that extends well beyond a traditional DJ set.”
